These are lyrics from the new Rend Collective Experiment song, “Build Your Kingdom Here.” This I feel is my prayer for the city we have been living in and Abba House. All the darkness and just the atmosphere we have been living in, has been so dead. It has been cool to see God’s love and light shining in places also.
I pray that Abba House would be set aflame for Jesus Christ. I pray that God would continue to build His Kingdom here on this land. As the girls grow up and go out I pray that they will change the atmosphere around them so that others will see Jesus in them. I pray that they continue to sing of God's love forever! I pray that the boys will see God’s true love and the redemption they have in His name. I pray that they will let go of things that bind them to their past and see that they are a new creation.
I also pray that Chiang Mai will be won back. As churches and ministries reach out to the lost and poor around them I pray that God will reveal Himself to those in search for something more. I pray that the walls would be torn down. I pray that God will change the atmosphere to that of love and giving God the glory.
My official last full day here was today and it consisted of:
· Toast and fruit for breakfast (as usual)
· Time with Jesus
· Chicken on a stick, papaya salad, and sticky rice for lunch
· Washing the boys’ feet during Bible class, which was honestly the greatest moment here with the guys. We talked about how Jesus washed His disciples’ feet and told them to go do the same. After we finished washing their feet, they began to wash our feet. To see their immediate want to go, be servants and do as we did was really encouraging. They understood and it was so beautiful.
· Watched a movie “for English class”
· Had Friday night fried chicken for the last time
· Ordered 10 pizzas for our party!
· Worshipped with all the Abba House girls, the New Life boys, and Joyce and David (our contacts)
· A dance party
· Put on a movie for the girls and ended up hearing Wat and Ploy’s testimonies. They opened up to a lot of what happened in their lives and what brought them to Abba House. It was great to see how God changed their hearts. They also told us about going to find other boys who are lost and need Jesus. Their excitement was so awesome as they asked us to pray for them as they go out!
