Sorry it has taken me so long to write about my experience at the hill tribe!

We stayed 3 days and 2 nights at a very luxurious concrete, tile-floored home in a beautiful village atop a beautiful mountain. In all seriousness it was luxury compared to the homes around us. What touched me the most was that this house was new and this family willingly gave up their home before they even moved into it! It was also my very first squatty potty encounter, which wasn’t so bad…

The best part for me was being able to see the New Life boys and the Abba House girls serve. They definitely held nothing back as they talked with, played with, worshipped with, or listened to those people. The language that they spoke was different than Thai so some of them had to step up and be translators. It was great to see them in this environment and giving of themselves. God really used them in mighty ways whether it was the teenage girls befriending the girls in the tribe or little Laa and Sophia playing and singing with the other little kids. The girls did a great job singing songs as a group that they had learned…so precious! So great to see how they brought Jesus to this village.

Before we went we were really trying to get the boys to understand what it meant that they would be missionaries that weekend. They seemed really excited when we told them that. The day we came back and talked to the boys we found out what God had taught them. Some of the boys were able to lead other boys to Christ, some really enjoyed being with the children playing games and singing, and others sat and chatted with the older men and women of the village. It was great to see these boys being the body of Christ. We found out from our pastor that the village was without a pastor for the church and over half of the village community did not know Jesus as their personal savior. Knowing this we told the guys that they really did touch these peoples’ lives. Even though we may not see every change that will happen in that village, a seed was planted in that place and in the hearts of many of the people. It was so wonderful to be a part of this!

Here’s a video of the weekend to give you a better picture of how the weekend looked:
